MSK Education Launches New DVD on Upper Extremities

The premiere group creating instructional DVD’s on the musculoskeletal examination has added a new DVD to their flagship product, “Joint Assessment Made Easy”. MSK Education‘s new DVD focuses on the upper extremities, and has been well received in workshops across the country.

Dr Janice Harvey, Past President of the Canadian Association of Sport and Exercise Medicine, and half of the dynamic duo of MSK Education with nurse practitioner Michelle Acorn, stated that the DVD really grew out of the grassroots demand. “Examination of the wrist and hand were giving a lot of people trouble, and we had pioneered a simple and effective way to teach this over the years. This DVD distils our years of clinical experience and teaching into a great resource to cover examination of the neck, shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand that is practical and effective.”

The DVD can be ordered from the mskeducation.com website. Workshops are also available. Leap will be creating streaming videos for individual or institutional subscription, as well as case study e-learning modules incorporating the videos.

Their first instructional DVD – Joint Assessment Made Easy – covers MSK examination of the neck, shoulder, back, hip, knee and ankle. A set of 5 handouts is included with the purchase of each of the DVD’s. The handouts provide a valuable overview of the various assessments, with notes on how to conduct special examination procedures as well as practice ‘pearls’.

I loved it…great resource. Also heard good things from other individuals who bought the DVD. – Primary Care Nurse Practitioner
